Work in progress

I'm done with the top of (one of) the quilt(s). (I would like to make a quilt for each of the girls' beds.) I'm going to see a lady tonight who is a quilter and will find out what I need to do next, to finish the quilt. Something about batting and backing and the actual quilting.

Actually, it's supposed to be a one-day quilt. I finished it in about 2 weeks. Of course, I wasn't sewing every day. And I didn't actually ever spend an entire day sewing. So it really did go pretty quickly. I'm thankful for that, because I still have one to do!

When I showed the quilt to the lady who helped me get started, she said it was too nice to machine quilt. She insisted that it really needs to be hand-quilted. !!! I asked her, "Doesn't that take a long time? Do you realize I have another quilt just like this one?" She offered to let me use her upcoming slot with her quilting guild. She meets with a group of little old ladies every Thursday morning, and they stitch each other's quilts. So...I will get at least one of them hand-quilted! :-) Uhhh, Mom, are you visiting me any time soon? Liz? Anyone?
